Events and evangelism

THE WECHAPEL

One thing unique about The WEC is the feeling and sense of family amongst those who have taken refuge under the banner of Christ in the church. This culture or atmosphere is maintained through specific projects that foster this sense. The Projects are created to design and project-manage programs that foster this culture.

JOHN 13: 35-By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. Projects to facilitate congregation cohesion, include: Couples away weekend – Helps to spice up and strengthen marriage and the home; Easter Family Fest – Supports integration of families within The WEC fellowship in an atmosphere of sports, food and entertainment. The WEC Anniversary Program – Focuses on end of year achievement of various departments and church fellowship party.

Other activities that foster love expressions within the Events and Evangelism department include preparing the church auditorium for church service and other special events. They make preparations and planning for The WEC activities to be held in communities such as crusade and evangelism. They facilitate and provide the necessary materials and equipment for evangelism.

The WEC as a word-based church, Evangelism is vital and a core mandate within the ministry.  As our Pastor constantly reminds us, it is the “heartbeat” of the church.  The Events and Evangelism Department’s responsibility is to witness to those who may not attend regular church services.  It is their job to spread the word through streets, jails & school ministries, hospitals, homes, and any place where they can be effective witnesses. “For if we cease to evangelize, we will eventually die”.
