These are the Gate Keepers of the church, also referred to as the Ushering team. They take note of members, visitors or anyone accessing and visiting the building for Health, Safety and Security reasons during various occasions in the church. They communicate any unclear actions and movements to the security and a member of the Ministry and Protocol department on duty for support in taking the needed action.
The responsibility of the Usher is to greet everyone with a pleasant smile. They oversee the welcoming, general comfort, the settling and sitting arrangements during services and programs week-in, week-out, throughout the year. They also facilitate donation collections, assist in the receiving of tithes and offerings during services, crowd control and the maintenance of orderly flow of proceedings during services. The Usher also distributes bulletins and visitor cards. The Bible enjoins us in, 1 Corinthians 14:40: Let all things be done decently and in order.
